1) Paul says that "the love of God controls us." Knowing God's love motivates the believer's heart as nothing else can (2 Corinthians 5:14). We understand His love by faith, and return our love to Him by doing what He commands.
2) The power to obey is not is us; it must be given by God's grace, and received by faith.
3) We must know what our obedience accomplishes. By faith we understand that we were created to glorify God. In fulfilling the purpose of our creation, we not only honor God by obeying Him, but we enjoy the greatest satisfaction anyone is capable of experiencing in this life.
